The show must go on, with MecVel screw jacks

From Belarus to Kazakhstan, from Germany to Russia, from Budapest to Paris, the eternal charm of theatre meets the technology proposed by MecVel.

Thanks to years of experience and knowledge in this branch, the range of products manufactured by MecVel, 100% “Made in Italy”, is constantly updated and customized, according to the requests of the market, in order to meet customer needs. For these reasons, MecVel is able to offer complete solutions for all sorts of applications.
To ensure to the public the energy and the glamour offered by a theatrical performance, in addition to the choice of artists and the related scenography, it becomes important the choice of the right technology to give even more emphasis to what will be performed on stage.
In this scenario MecVel mechanical screw jacks range (HT100, HT200 and HR200) take over, as part of the show.
The role of a screw jack is to convert the rotatory motion of a motor in a linear movement that will perform vertical lifts, horizontal positioning but also oblique operations, both in push or pull.
Given the same performances in terms of load – speed and duty, the choice between HT and HR series depends only on the specific application needs. HT series are characterized by a trapezoidal acme screw travelling through the body of the screw jack, which performs the linear motion by the screw itself. In this case, it is required free space below the screw jack in order to allow the whole movement. In HR series instead, the trapezoidal screw rotates integrally with the gearbox wheel. The linear motion, in this case, is performed by the nut travelling up and down along the rotating screw. This nut will have to be fixed to the structure to be carried to avoid rotation with the screw. While HT100 series develops a force up to 100kN, HT200 and HR200 provide a force up to 200kN. For both sizes several types of limit switches devices (for stopping the screw jack in outer and inner positions preventing damages) as well as rotary potentiometer and encoder (for position feedback) can be provided as option.
These products find their perfect combination in a “four corner” configuration, where the four screw jacks connected among them by means of shafts, couplings and bevel gears, allow the transmission of the movement with a perfect synchronism, even if the load is not equally distributed. This configuration in meant to lift the stage as required by the play but also, before and after it takes place, it allows a simple and comfortable handling of platforms for loading and unloading sets, materials and all the elements required to give the right appearance to the show.
While the HR200 have been selected for at the Astana Arena, in Kazakhstan and at the Central Theatre of Minsk, in Belarus, with installations carried out in partnership with Bosch, the HT100 and HT200 have been chosen, for example, from the charming theatre Le Trianon in the French capital Paris. Other installations have been done with our products in German and Russian theatres.
No compromise is required with the systems made by MecVel: they ensure an extremely high stopping precision and allow holding the stage in position without any need for additional locks.
In addition to all this, extra-long screwes and long screw pitches can be used to ensure power and speed of movement sticking to the maximum silence, in order to avoid diverting the attention of the public from what it is being performed on the stage.
Not to forget and underestimate the importance given to safety factor assured by MecVel equipments: each system can be provided with motors mounting double safety brakes and its solid structure is designed to last and always perform at maximum efficiency, to ensure the best level of security for artists on stage, but also for the backstage crew.
